Assay Information
An antihuman Cu/ZnSOD coating antibody is adsorbed onto microwells. Human Cu/ZnSOD present in the sample or standard binds to antibodies adsorbed to the microwells. A HRPconjugated antihuman Cu/ZnSOD antibody is added and binds to human Cu/ZnSOD captured by the first antibody. Following incubation unbound HRPconjugated antihuman Cu/ZnSOD is removed during a wash step, and substrate solution reactive with HRP is added to the wells. A coloured product is formed in proportion to the amount of human Cu/ZnSOD present in the sample or standard. The reaction is terminated by addition of acid and absorbance is measured at 450 nm. A standard curve is prepared from 7 human Cu/ZnSOD standard dilutions and human Cu/ZnSOD concentration determined.

Modern humans (Homo sapiens, primarily ssp. Homo sapiens sapiens). Depending on the epitopes used human ELISA kits can be cross reactive to many other species. Mainly analyzed are human serum, plasma, urine, saliva, human cell culture supernatants and biological samples.
