Assay Information
An antihuman Caspase8 coating antibody is adsorbed onto microwells. Human Caspase8 present in the sample or standard binds to antibodies adsorbed to the microwells. The detection antibody binds to human Caspase8 captured by the first antibody. Following incubation unbound detection antibody is removed during a wash step. AntirabbitIgGHRP is added and binds to the Detection Antibody. Following incubation unbound antirabbitIgGHRP is removed during a wash step, and substrate solution reactive with HRP is added to the wells. A coloured product is formed in proportion to the amount of human Caspase8 present in the sample or standard. The reaction is terminated by addition of acid and absorbance is measured at 450 nm. A standard curve is prepared from 7 human Caspase8 standard dilutions and human Caspase8 concentration determined.
Description
Human and some mouse caspases are active in apoptosis and cell death and even in necrosis and inflammation. CASP Gene and orthologous enzymes have been identifies successfully in the signal transduction cascade and pathways.

Modern humans (Homo sapiens, primarily ssp. Homo sapiens sapiens). Depending on the epitopes used human ELISA kits can be cross reactive to many other species. Mainly analyzed are human serum, plasma, urine, saliva, human cell culture supernatants and biological samples.
